INTRODUCING THE CULTIVATED CLASSROOM:
Pitchforks/gardenWhat's growing on?
The foundation of our program is built on the cultivated classroom, our organic edible school garden. Here students grow what they eat, and practice integrated studies such as sustainability, science, math, reading, social studies, & nutrition outdoors, exercising our bodies and minds. See how we're digging in! |
Plates/kitchenWhat's on the plate people?
Let's DISH about what's cooking in the culinary classroom. Kids are amazing, ready and able to take on the responsibility of learning self sustainability. In the culinary classroom we provide a safe, kid-friendly environment for healthy risk-taking. Kids produce nutritiously delicious meals that they can utilize for a lifetime. Lights, Camera, Action!
The Cultivated Classroom has our own YouTube Channel, where budding chefs become foodie filmmakers. Students create and produce webisodes of garden and culinary techniques, personal food stories, and share their ideas about food and how it impacts every aspect of ones' life. We are EGG-cited to use this powerful tool to promote grass-root social change, because we believe knowing how to feed your body and mind is kind of important. From planting roots to photo shoots, we're sowing seeds of knowledge. CLICK, WATCH, LIKE & SUBSCRIBE |

5-A-DAY FRIDAYS ARE EVERY FRIDAY!
Did you know you should be eating 5 to 9 servings of fruits and veggies everyday? At Gregory-Lincoln, we want to..."snack our way to a healthier day." We made Fridays a fun reminder to get in 5 to 9 everyday. Students, staff from the front to the back, administration and parents are encouraged to bring their favorite FRESH fruit or veggie snack to school. When you hear the countdown everyone gobbles up goodness as we continue with our work. 5-a-day Fridays reminds us to refuel our bodies and minds everyday with a FRESH approach. |
